Elouise Cobell in New Mexico to discuss $3.4B trust fund settlement

Elouise Cobell, the lead plaintiff in the Indian trust fund lawsuit, is in New Mexico this week to discuss the $3.4 billion settlement that was signed into law last year.

Cobell and attorney Dennis Gingold will be at Laguna Pueblo this morning to answer questions about the deal. Later they will head to the Church Rock Chapter House on the Navajo Nation.

Tomorrow, Cobell and Gingold will be in Farmington. On Thursday, they'll be at the Torreon/Star Lake Chapter House.

An estimated 8,000 Navajo beneficiaries, primarily in the Four Corners area, are expected to share in the settlement.
