Vice chairman of Pala Band serving probation for lewd conduct

Leroy Miranda, the vice chairman of the Pala Band of Mission Indians of California, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of lewd conduct, The North County Times reports.

Miranda, 44, admitted that he solicited a prostitute at an adult book store. He was ordered to pay a fine of $570, enroll in an AIDS education program, stay away from the book store and wear an electronic monitoring device, the paper said.

But Miranda failed to complete the electronic monitoring program so he was ordered to wear the device for another 24 days.
