Boy, 11, killed in hunting accident near Alaska Native village

An 11-year-old boy from an Alaska Native village was killed during a hunting accident on Sunday.

The boy from St. Mary's was looking for a rabbit for his mother on Mother's Day. He was accidentally shot by a 9-year-old girl who was also on the hunt.

The boy and the girl, who were alone, were related, authorities said.

St. Mary's is a Yup'ik village.
