Oklahoma governor wants to finish work on Indian museum

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin (R) says the state needs to finish work on the American Indian Cultural Center and Museum in Oklahoma City

Fallin will ask lawmakers to approve a bill to authorize the sale of $39 million in bonds to complete construction. The bonds would be matched by $40 million in private contributions.

“That's a project that was begun 20 years ago in discussion,” Fallin told The Oklahoman. “We have a large investment sitting out on the river in Oklahoma City that needs to be funded and completed. ... It's embarrassing not to have it finished.”
