Claims for $760M Keepseagle settlement due December 24

Indian farmers and ranchers who want a share of the $760 million settlement to the Keepseagle case must file claims by December 24.

The settlement creates two tracks. For Track A, those who can show they were the victims of discrimination and complained about it are eligible for payments of up to $50,000.

Track B allows payments of up to $250,000. Claimants must provide proof of actual economic losses after suffering discrimination and after complaining about it.

The attorneys will start holding meetings in July to help people file claims for Track A. The meetings will run through December, Agweek reported.

Indian farmers and ranchers who wish to join Track B are being encouraged to hire a separate attorney.
