First Nations police officer charged for assault of teen girl

A First Nations police officer has been charged for assaulting a teen girl in Manitoba.

The 39-year-old officer works for the Dakota Ojibway Police Service. He has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, impaired driving, and supplying liquor to a minor.

Authorities said the victim is 16 years old.
