Deaths of Spirit Lake Dakotah children treated as homicide

Federal authorities are treating the deaths of two children from the Spirit Lake Dakotah Nation in North Dakota as homicides.

The children, ages 9 and 6, were found dead in a home on the reservation. Authorities aren't saying much about the case but their father, Travis DuBois, is believed to be the main suspect.

DuBois was arrested and charged in tribal court with reckless endangerment and public intoxication. He already pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to two years and 60 days.

Tribal prosecutor Joe Vetsch said DuBois was intoxicated when the children died.

DuBois is said to be a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians.
