County to hold public hearing on Lummi Nation ferry agreement

Whatcom County in Washington will host a public hearing on July 26 to discuss an agreement with the Lummi Nation.

The tribe owns the land where the Lummi Island ferry docks. The county has agreed to pay $200,000 a year to lease the land, with adjustments for inflation.

Additionally, the county will provide $6 million, in three $2 million installments, for infrastructure improvements.
