Witness List: House subcommittee hearing on land-into-trust

The House Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs is holding a hearing tomorrow on three bills.

The subcommittee will take testimony H.R.1291 and H.R.1234. The two bills provide a fix the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Carcieri v. Salazar to ensure that all tribes can follow the land-into-trust process.

Also on the agenda is H.R. 1421. The bill authorizes the Cherokee Nation to construct hydroelectric generating facilities at the W.D. Mayo Lock and Dam on the Arkansas River in Oklahoma and to market electricity from those facilities.

The hearing takes place at 11am in Room 1324 of the Longworth House Office Building. The witness list follows:
