County worried about Lytton Band land-into-trust application

The board of supervisors in Sonoma County, California, will discuss the Lytton Band of Pomo Indians land-into-trust application today.

The tribe wants to have 124 acres placed in trust. The property will be used for up to 147 homes, more than what is allowed on county land.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has issued an environmental assessment for the acquisition. The county is expected to approve a letter that asks for a more detailed environmental impact statement.
