Indian youth taking part in National Intertribal Youth Summit

Over 170 teens representing 50 tribes are taking part in the National Intertribal Youth Summit this week.

The teens are talking about suicide, substance abuse, domestic violence and other issues affecting their communities. They are hearing from tribal leaders, federal officials, federal prosecutors and other Indian advocates.

"They are in the position, and they are putting us in the position, to make a change," Evan Eustace, 17, told The Santa Fe New Mexican.

The summit ends Friday. It's being held at Santa Fe Indian School.
