Isleta Pueblo completes restoring church that was built in 1613

Residents of Isleta Pueblo in New Mexico celebrated the restoration of a church that was built in 1613.

Most of the walls of the original structure at the St. Augustine Catholic Church are still standing. But the building need some renovations.

“We are very lucky this church withstood the test of time, albeit some repairs and some restorations,” Gov. Frank Lujan told The Albuquerque Journal.

The project took about a year and a half to complete.
