Crow Reservation woman charged for homicide of 3-year-old boy
A woman from the Crow Reservation in Montana has been charged in connection with the death of a 3-year-old boy.

Lavonna Bird, 50, was charged with negligent homicide. She is accused of leaving Jaren Wayne Blacksmith, her foster child, locked in a car on a 93-degree day.

Blacksmith died on the evening of August 17 in Hardin, off the reservation. Authorities are trying to determine whether he was beaten earlier in the day, on the reservation.
