Sam Winder, Southern Ute, sworn into New Mexico judgeship


Sam Winder, a member of the Southern Ute Tribe, was sworn into the New Mexico District Court last week.

Winder will serve on the 2nd Judicial District Court. He is the first Native American Republican judge in New Mexico, according to the Associated Press.

Winder is a former federal prosecutor.
