Kickapoo Tribe will dedicate police department to former chief

The Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas will dedicate its police department in honor of former police chief Thomas L. Conklin Jr.

Conklin, a tribal member, served as police chief from May 2001 until his death in an automobile accident in July 2009. He also served on the tribal council.

The police department is located at the tribe's justice center.
