Abramoff Scandal

Jack Abramoff getting paid to lecture lawmakers about ethics

Convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff is being paid $5,000, plus expenses, to lecture lawmakers in Kentucky about "ethics," Bloomberg News reports.

Abramoff claims he will use the money to pay back the tribes he defrauded. He's been on a media blitz lately to promote his book and his ideas but he hasn't personally apologized to his victims in Indian Country.

“They say, ‘You can’t trust him because he’s a criminal,’” he told Bloomberg of his critics. “Does it matter if you trust me? Do you think I’m exaggerating what goes on in Washington?”
