Cherokee Nation attorney general Todd Hembree sworn in

Todd Hembree was sworn in as the attorney general of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.

Hembree was nominated to the position by Chief Bill John Baker. He was unanimously confirmed by the tribal council, where he previously served as its counsel.

“Todd has a wealth of Indian law experience,” Baker said in a press release. “His professional and personal backgrounds make him a natural fit to be our attorney general.”

Hembree succeeds Diane Hammons.
