Quapaw Tribe plans for development on property in Missouri

The Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma plans to develop property it owns in Missouri.

The tribe wants to open a large convenience store and an RV park on the land, The Joplin Globe reported. The tribe is asking the Newton County Commission to approve a "Community Improvement District" for the property in order to generate tax revenues.

The land is near the Downstream Casino Resort, parts of which are located in Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas.
