Services begin for Agua Caliente leader Richard Milanovich

Family, friends and other well-wishers began paying tribute to the late Richard Milanovich, who was the longtime chairman of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians of California.

Milanovich's body is lying in state at the Palm Springs Convention Center. It will rest there until 3pm today.

Tomorrow, a public remembrance and a celebration of life will be held in his honor. Gov. Jerry Brown (D) and Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R) will be among the speakers at the event.

Milanovich died on March 11. He was 69.
