Recall season proves costly for Colorado River Indian Tribes

The Colorado River Indian Tribes have spent nearly $750,000 on recall elections in the last few years, elder Willie Fisher Jr. told The Parker Pioneer.

Each recall election costs an estimated $72,000. One council member -- Dennis Welsh Jr. -- is facing a fourth attempt this year.

“First of all, let it be known that the same pathetic “old Tribal Council” are once again behind the latest recall against me," Welsh told the Pioneer.

Three other council members are also facing a recall.
