Haskell University leader avoiding newspaper over investigation

Haskell Indian Nations University President Chris Redman has indefinitely postponed a meeting with The Lawrence Journal-World as the paper looks into an investigation of falsified student-athlete test scores.

Redman has canceled two interviews so far. He says he won't sit down until the paper receives a response to its Freedom of Information Act requests.

The FOIA process at the Bureau of Indian Affairs typically takes months to resolve, giving Redman plenty of time to avoid questions about employees and students who were disciplined over falsified ACT test scores and modified student transcripts.
