Blackfeet Nation suspends council member accused of crime

Another council member was suspended from the Blackfeet Nation of Montana after being accused of criminal conduct.

Paul McEvers was removed at an emergency meeting on Sunday, The Great Falls Tribune reported. Details were sketchy but he's apparently being accused of threatening or intimidating other council members.

The council previously removed Jesse "Jay" St. Goddard from his seat. That led to a dispute in which William "Bill" OldChief was named chairman.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs, however, continues to recognize Willie Sharp Jr. as chairman.
