Police seek help in locating Native woman missing for two years

Authorities in Alberta released an audio recording that they hope might generate information about a Native woman who went missing two years ago this month.

Amber Alyssa Tuccaro was last seen on August 18, 2010. She received a ride from an unknown man, who promised to take her into Edmonton but police believe he drove to a rural area instead.

"This is the most painful thing I've ever been through, " Vivan Tuccaro, Amber's mother, said at a press conference yesterday, CBC News reported. "I feel helpless not knowing where my daughter is.

In the recording, Amber can be heard arguing with the man when she realizes he is not driving her into the city. She was 20 years old when she went missing.

Project KARE, a division of the RCMP in Alberta that investigates murdered and missing persons, posted the audio recording on its website.
