Search underway for Native woman who went missing last year

Authorities in Manitoba are searching a landfill in hopes of recovering the remains of a Native woman who went missing over a year ago.

Tanya Nepinak, 31, was last seen in Winnipeg in September 2011. Authorities believe she was killed and placed in a garbage bin that ended up in the landfill.

Shawn Cameron Lamb, 52, has been charged with second-degree murder for Nepinak's death. He also faces charges for two other Native women who were killed in Winnipeg.
