Man from Spirit Lake Nation pleads guilty for assault of 2 boys

A man from the Spirit Lake Nation in North Dakota who beat two young male relatives and set their bedroom on fire pleaded guilty on Monday.

Lyndon Greybear, 30, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and one count of endangering by fire or explosion. He faced more serious charges of attempted murder but prosecutors dropped them after psychologists said he was experiencing a psychotic episode during the November 13, 2011, incident, The Grand Forks Herald reported.

Greybear admitted that he beat and urinated on the two boys, who are the sons of his cousin. The crime took place in Fargo, off the reservation.

A sentencing date hasn't been set.
