NMAI in Washington, D.C., and in New York City remain closed

The National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., and in New York City remain closed today in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

The nation's capitol appears to have escaped serious damage from the storm. However, lower Manhattan, where NMAI's facility is located, has been hit by severe flooding.

No reports were available this morning on the status of the building in Manhattan.
