Standing Rock Sioux Tribe shares sex offender data with states

The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe reached agreements to share sex offender information with the states of North Dakota and South Dakota.

The tribe operates its own sex offender registry. The tribe's data will submitted to the national system under the joint powers agreements with the states.

"The agreements with the state of North Dakota and the state of South Dakota will assist the tribe in making the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation a safer place for everyone,” Chairman Charles W. Murphy said in a press release.

The reservation straddles both states.
