Ousted Crow Tribe chairman challenges outcome of election

Members of the Crow Tribe of Montana ousted Cedric Black Eagle last week but he's challenging the results of the election.

Black Eagle and two other losing candidates filed a protest with the tribe's election commission, The Billings Gazette reported. They say not every voter was required to show identification.

The commission has until Friday to rule on the protest. Chairman-elect Darrin Old Coyote believes it will be rejected.

“Our team believes the people have spoken,” Old Coyote told the paper in a statement. “We have noted the challenge, but continue to plan for positive change.”
