Sherry Counts: Hualapai Tribe remains open for all business

"As chairwoman of the Hualapai Tribe, I can tell you we are open for business.

Much like every Native American tribe across the country, we have hundreds of outstanding relationships with off-reservation contractors.

Those partnerships are successful because both parties consistently abide by the terms of the contracts we sign — something Las Vegas developer David Jin failed to do. I’m eternally grateful for our many wonderful partners across the U.S., all of whom have fulfilling and lucrative relationships with the tribe and our business arm, Sa’ Nyu Wa.

After reading The Republic, readers could think that Sa’ Nyu Wa is out of legal options.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Sa’ Nyu Wa will appeal the judge’s ruling to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and we are exploring a variety of other avenues."
