Arizona bill returns sales tax revenue on reservations to tribes
Lawmakers in Arizona are considering a bill that would return a portion of sale taxes generated on reservations to tribal governments.
Senate Bill 1283 sets aside 25 percent of reservation tax revenue for tribes to use on infrastructure and community development projects.
The remaining 75 percent would go to county governments.
Reservations generated $39.5 million in sales tax revenue last year, the Associated Press reported.
