Man sentenced to life for homicides of Yankton Sioux family

A citizen of Somalia was sentenced to four consecutive life terms for the homicides of three members of the Yankton Sioux Tribe and a fourth person.

Omar Mohamed Kalmio, 28, was found guilty of murdering his former girlfriend, Sabrina Zephier, 19; Sabrina's brother, Dylan Zephier, 13; Sabrina and Dylan's mother Jolene Zephier, 38; and Jolene's boyfriend, Jeremy Longie, 22. The crime occurred in Minot, North Dakota.

Kalmio plans to appeal, his attorney said.
