Oneida Nation puts end to controversial waste recycling plant

The Oneida Nation of Wisconsin won't be moving forward with a waste recycling plant after tribal members voted down the project on Sunday.

The Oneida Seven Generations Corp., a tribal entity, proposed a site on the reservation after running into opposition elsewhere. But tribal members didn't think it was a good idea either and rejected the project at a lengthy general council meeting.

"The General Tribal Council, made up of almost 2,000 people, today made their decision and I believe they made the right decision," Chairman Ed Delgado told FOX 11.
