Native American Natural Foods going strong after sx years

Native American Natural Foods, an Indian-owned business on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, is still going strong, six years after introducing its first product.

The Tanka Bar is now sold in all 50 states and by major companies like Whole Foods and REI.

"We wanted to create a natural, no preservative, healthy snack bar to help fight the health problems that the nation is facing," Native American Natural Foods CEO Karlene Hunter told KSFY-TV.

The company operates out of a 6,000 square-foot facility on the reservation. Hunter is proud of the jobs and economic opportunity the business has generated.

"This is my home, my children, grandchildren are all raised here, they're still here," Hunter says.
