Native News Network is encouraging people to vote to send David E. Patterson Sr., a Navajo Code Talker, to the Major League Baseball all-star game.
Paterson is one of three nominees for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
If he gets enough votes, he will represent the team at the "Tribute for Heroes" game next month in New York City.
Paterson used the Navajo language to transmit unbreakable codes during World War II. He currently lives in New Mexico.
