Bryan Brewer, the president of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, has been arrested in Nebraska, the Native Sun News is reporting on Facebook.

Tribal officials told NSN that Brewer was in Whiteclay, a town just across the border from the Pine Ridge Reservation, when he was arrested by police in Nebraska. He was transported to Rushville.

"The police at the scene told reps from the tribe that President Brewer had an outstanding warrant in the state," NSN said in a Facebook post.

Brewer has previously been involved in protests against the sale of liquor in Whiteclay.
