More than 1,000 people have been evacuated from their homes. Hundreds of homes are underwater, according to news reports and accounts on Facebook. “There is a feeling of hopelessness,” Chief Fred Rabbit Carrier told CTV. “We didn’t expect it to be this devastating.” The reserve remains under a boil water order as media reports paint a rosier picture for cleanup efforts elsewhere in the province “It was all about the Saddledome, they forgot about us,” resident Sally Fox, who was forced from her home, told CBC News. The Stoney Nakoda Nation is also under an evacuation order. And flooding has led the Cumberland House Cree Nation in neighboring Saskatchewan to start evacuating residents. Get the Story:
