BLM delays ruling on closing sacred Sho-Ban site to climbers

The Bureau of Land Management has delayed a decision on closing a sacred site to climbers.

The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes oppose climbing at Castle Rocks. A decision might not come for another year in order to study the impact of climbing at the site.

“We’re anxious to hear the BLM’s decision,” Carolyn Smith, a tribal member, told The Twin Falls Times-News. “That area is important to us.”
