Another deadline passes on sale of Wounded Knee massacre site

A second and "final" deadline has passed over the sale of the Wounded Knee massacre site in South Dakota.

Jim Czywcysnki owns the 40-acre site and an adjacent 40-acre parcel that he wants to sell to the Oglala Sioux Tribe. But his asking price -- $4.9 million for both plots -- has drawn objections.

Czywcysnki met President Bryan Brewer and descendants of the massacre victims at a meeting in the offices of the Native Sun News in July. A month later, he set his "final" deadline of September 2.

Czywcysnki says he will auction the land if the tribe doesn't buy it.
