Navajo Nation welcomes visit to tribal parks during shutdown

National parks and monuments are closed due to the shutdown of the federal government but the Navajo Nation is reminding the public that tribal parks remain open.

The tribe operates parks that can serve as alternatives to national facilities. Since the Grand Canyon National Park is closed, visitors can check out the Little Colorado River Navajo Tribal Park in Arizona.

The tribe's parks are open seven days a week with the exception of Christmas, New Year’s and Thanksgiving.
