California Valley Miwok Tribe holds on to property after auction

The California Valley Miwok Tribe lucked out after no one bid on its only property on Tuesday.

The tribe hasn't made payments on the house in Stockton for years so it was put up for auction. The tribe says it's broke due to a halt in revenue sharing funds from the state of California.

"It's extremely stressful to live through," tribal member Angelica Paulk told News 10. "Everyone's lives have stopped, nothing can go forward."

The state has refused to release the money due to a leadership dispute within the tribe, which only has 5 members.
