Turtle Mountain Band holds tribal court argument at law school

An employment dispute within the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians in North Dakota was the subject of a tribal court hearing on Monday.

The Turtle Mountain Tribal Court of Appeals heard arguments in Ronald Allery et al v. Chairman of the Turtle Mountain Band at the University of North Dakota School of Law. The case involves three former employees who said they were terminated without due process.

The appeals court hears about 100 cases a year, according to the School of Law.
