United South and Eastern Tribes launch Impact Week meeting

The United South and Eastern Tribes launched its annual Impact Week meeting today.

Representatives of tribes from Maine to Florida are meeting in a Washington, D.C., area hotel to get updates from the White House, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Indian Health Service, the National Indian Gaming Commission and other federal agencies. They will also hear from members of Congress who work on Indian issues.

The meeting concludes Thursday.
