Lac du Flambeau Band pays $75K to help county with caseload

The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is providing $75,000 over the next three years to help Vilas County, Wisconsin, with its caseload.

According to WJFW, almost 40 percent of law enforcement incidents came from the reservation. Yet the reservation makes up just 15 percent of the county population.

The tribe's annual donation of $25,000 will enable the county's district attorney to hire a staffer to handle the caseload.
