The United States pays countries a lot of money, but they can not pay the people that they owe money to that live here in the United States Black Hills. The United States owes the Sioux Nation $50 million plus interest. This has not been paid. The Cobell settlement was approved a year ago. Tribal leaders and members are waiting for their money.
