Obama to add lands to monument near Manchester Rancheria

President Barack Obama will sign an executive order today to expand the California Coastal National Monument.

An area known as the Point Arena-Stornetta Public Lands is being added to the monument. The inclusion of the 1,665-acre parcel will help preserve the California shoreline for future generations.

The expansion will bring the monument even closer to the Manchester Band of Pomo Indians. The tribe's reservation sits next to the Point Arena-Stornetta Public Lands.
