Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations adopts budget cuts

The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations adopted budget cuts at a special meeting on Wednesday.

FSIN reduced salaries for its four vice chiefs. They will receive $75,000 a year, down from more about $100,000 a year.

About 25 percent of staff will be cut. That means not everyone will lose their jobs as had been anticipated.

FSIN has lost $2 million in federal funding over the past two years, according to news reports.
