The Ute Tribe and the University of Utah are signing a new agreement today over the use of the "Utes" name.

The tribe sanctioned the use of "Utes" after the NCAA put the school on its list of hostile and abusive mascots. The tribe continues to support the name and associated Indian imagery but has asked for additional considerations, including tuition waivers for its members.

The Salt Lake Tribune said the agreement is being signed at 11am Mountain Time.
