Larry Pressler, an independent candidate for U.S. Senate in South Dakota, supports the creation of an Indian holocaust museum at the site of the 1890 Wounded Knee Massacre.

Pressler said the museum could be built with state and federal funds and would bring tourists to the area. The site is on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Pressler served three terms in the Senate from 1979 to 1997 as a Republican.
