The Hualapai Tribe of Arizona will hold a ceremony on Tuesday to mark a major improvement for its Grand Canyon Skywalk. The tribe spent $30 million to pave a nine-mile road that leads to the popular tourist attraction. Previously, visitors had to endure a bumpy ride that frequently caused damage to vehicles. “It’s one of our biggest headaches,” Chairwoman Sherry Counts told the Associated Press of the old road. “We don’t have to worry about it anymore, so we’re happy.” About 700,000 people visit the Skywalk every year, the AP said.
