Fort Sill Apache Tribe contributes $1500 to Democratic candidate

The Fort Sill Apache Tribe donated $1,500 to Hector Balderas, the Democratic candidate for attorney general in New Mexico.

The tribe has a reservation in the southern part of the state. But Gov. Susana Martinez (R) refused to recognize the tribe's presence until being ordered to do so by the New Mexico Supreme Court in April.

Balderas is running against Republican Susan Riedel. He has raised $822,000, far more than the $178,000.for his opponent.
